A late 19th century, floor-standing longcase clock believed to be ex-NER from Wellington Street Leeds, clock records pointing to its use in Geldard Signal Cabin. Overall height: 81 inches. The vendor states that the clock was bought through Rail Curios at York in a poor condition. The pine Grandfather case with removable hood, trunk with door and base has since been stripped, repaired and refinished and bears a brass plate with details of its origin. The 12 inch dial written W. Potts & Sons Leeds and attached to the movement via a false plate. The weight driven movement with recoil escapement. Complete with steel-rod, seconds-beating pendulum with lenticular brass faced bob, brass cased lead weight and winder. Further notes on line. £400-600
