Great Central Railwayana Auctions Sale 211, Auction Lot 153 Lot 153
A late 19th century GER 12" GER roundhead clock with mahogany case and dial from Leiston with associated GER movement from Burwell. Overall height: 14½" inches. The typically sturdy GER box branded GER twice on the back and attached to the surround by four original shaped pegs (one damaged). The one piece dial surround containing a cast bezel with integral sight ring and bevelled glass. The dial written BR (E) over the shadow of GER and with a small Ivorine LNER plate marked 3074. Fusee movement between rectangular plates, the front plate with one dial foot hole slightly enlarged to accommodate the current dial, the rear plate stamped GER and scratched Burwell, pendulum rod also scratched Burwell. Complete with pendulum, winder, door key and copy of records showing that number 3074 was used in the Booking Office at Leiston. Further notes on line. £300-400
