Great Central Railwayana Auction Sale 211, Auction Lot 131
Lot 131 A nameplate, DE ROBECK, from a LMS Jubilee Class 6P No 5678 built at Crewe and named after Admiral Sir John De Robeck (1862-1928), becoming BR 45678. Allocated new to Crewe North on 24 December 1935, its later sheds included Carlisle Upperby, Edge Hill and Stockport from where it was withdrawn on 7 December 1962 and despatched for scrap to Taylor Bros at Trafford Park on 5 December 1963. Cast brass, 28¾" long. £7000-8000
